London, England – With the help of Bushtex, Inc.’s satellites, the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games on the networks of NBCUniversal, set the record as the most-watched event in U.S. television history. According to data available today from The Nielsen Company, over 217 million Americans watched the London Games; surpassing the 2008 Beijing Olympics (215 million).

Bushtex, Inc. was contracted by the host broadcaster, the London Olympic Broadcast Organization (or “LOBO”), to help oversee the transmission of the games to all license holders around the world. In order to do this, Bushtex, Inc. built a temporary “satellite farm” which included a total of nine 3.8M antennas for transmissions to several receivers around the world.
